Where’s your go to for a great slice? When we’re in the Midwood area of Brooklyn, we love stopping by Di Fara Pizza. Everything’s made from scratch with ingredients from around the world - “The extra-virgin olive oil comes from Italy, tomatoes from San Marzano, and then there’s the combination of Parmigianino-Reggiano cheese and buffalo mozzarella. Right before Dom serves you the slice, he cuts fresh basil (imported from Israel) right off the stem and onto your plate. With each bite, you realize that it is something different - different than any other pizza you have ever bitten into.“

Check out our video and write up on this authentic Brooklyn Pizzeria here: http://www.omgfoodie.com/cities/new-york/di-fara/

This past Friday we had a great chance to taste some of My Belly’s Playlist unique sandwiches. Our 2 personal favorites were
20-Hour Flight East - “Sesame seared yellow fin tuna, asian marinade, pickled carrots, cucumbers, fresh mint and cilantro rolled into crisp red leaf lettuce and served with a lemongrass ginger dipping sauce.  Our “east meets desk.””
The California Roll - “Jumbo lump crab dressed with a light citrus aioli, sesame toasted nori ribbons, cucumber spiral, wasabi avocado cream, topped with soy marinated carrot “tobiko” served as a duo on mini brioche buns. “Deconstructed and Reconstructed.””
We can’t wait to try out their other sandwiches - Got our eyes on “The Late Night BLT” & “Double Down Banh Mi“ They’re open for business starting TODAY and serving up FiDi. Congrats guys!

“TASTE MAY BE SUBJECTIVE, BUT LOVE OF FOOD IS UNIVERSAL”
-I think I came up with that
                                                                    (seriously, I checked Google)

Hey fellow foodie!

My name is Gary and I’m the CEO & co-founder of OMG Foodie, an online magazine that features the best restaurants, eateries and food events in town. Each week we publish an article highlighting some of our favorite places to eat, accompanied with photos and video that give our readers an in-depth look as to why we love a specific snack, entree, or dessert! (I’d show you a picture of how husky I am to present my street-cred, but that might kill my online dating chances).

All kidding aside, we’re building an ease-of-use resource to help you find food that will make you say “OMG”! We launched our first newsletter in June, relaunched our website in September, and plan to be launching our mobile app, food events & perks program in the near future.

Most importantly, we aspire to create an online community of foodies, as we believe that food is not only stimulating but also social. Thanksgiving just passed and it’s amazing how food brought so many families together. When you go on a date, it’s at a fancy restaurant. When you break up with someone, it’s over coffee at a diner (sad but true). Catching up with your girls is usually over brunch & mimosas. For guys, it’s steaks & scotch. We believe that food is the original social network and with that idea, my co-founders and I created “OMG Foodie”.

Coming across this Tumblr probably means you love food as much as I do! We’ve been building our idea into a reality for the past 6 months and over that time period, we’ve experienced many adventures while traveling across the NYC foodie landscape. We decided to use Tumblr to be the platform to help share our stories and experiences with you, as well as giving you a sense of the passion we put into creating content that will make your stomach growl!

So check out OMG Foodie and hope you enjoy all our food findings!

Cheers,
Gary
